# Power Off Instance

Power off is the process of turning off a VM instance that is no longer in use. When you shut down a VM from the control panel, we first try to shut it down gracefully. If it fails, we perform a forced shutdown, which can corrupt data. To ensure data integrity, it is best to shutdown from the command line by turning off the power. When shutdown, the VM stops using CPU and memory, but data on storage remains intact. You will still be billed for disabled VMs. To end billing, delete the Instance. Pada halaman Instance pilih Instance yang akan dimatikan.

To turn off the instance, select the Power menu, and in the Turn Off Instance menu, click the Turn Off button.

The Turn Off Instance window appears which explains that when you turn off the instance via the control panel, the system will try a graceful shutdown first. If it fails, the system will perform a forced shutdown, which risks data corruption. To maintain data integrity, it is recommended to shut down the instance via the command line using the poweroff command. Click the Power Off button to continue the process of shutting down the VM.
