Chapter XVI: 16.4 Network Menu

The Network menu provides features for creating a network that will be used by the Deka Prime instance. After you successfully log in to the Cloudeka Portal Service, click the Network menu in the Deka Prime module. There are three subsections in this section:

16.4.1 Create Routed Network

Here are the steps to create a routed network type in the Network menu:

  • On the Network page click the Create Network button.

  • In the Scope section click the Next button.

  • In the Network Type section select Routed and click the Next button.

  • In the Edge Connection section select available connections, in connection type there are three options: Internal, Distributed, Subinterface, and then click the Next button.

  • In the Generalize Name, Description, CIDR Gateway section, enable Shared if you need, and then click the Next button.

  • In Static IP Pools enter the IP range corresponding to the IP entered in the CIDR Gateway and click the Add button. Click the Next button to continue with the process.

  • On the DNS page click the Next button.

  • On the Ready To Complete page click the Finnish button. Show notifications “Network has successfully created!”

  • On the Network page, a Routed type network is already available in the List of Networks table.

16.4.2 Create Isolated Network

Here are the steps to create an isolated type network in the Network menu:

  • On the Network menu page click Create Network.

-In the Scope section click the Next button.

  • In the Network Type section select Isolated and click the Next button.

  • In Generalize Name, Description, CIDR Gateway, enable Shared if you need, and then click the Next button.

  • In Static IP Pools fill the IP range and click Add to add the next click the Next button to continue with the process.

  • In DNS customize your needs by setting the Primary DNS, Secondary DNS, and DNS Suffix, and clicking the Next button to continue with the process.

  • In Ready To Complete, click the Finnish button to continue with the configuration summary. Show notifications “Network has successfully created!”

  • On the Network page, the Isolated-type network is already available in the List of Networks table.

16.4.3 Edit Network

You can change Network data for Name, Description, Connection Type, and enable or disable Guest VLANs. Here are the steps to change Network data:

  • On the Network menu page, select the Network to change.

  • You will be directed to the selected Network detail page click the Edit button.

  • You can change the Name, Description, Connection Type. After making changes click the Confirm button to save the changes.
